The onerous work required to develop a new wood design curriculum can be a significant barrier to scaling wood education in engineering programs. To address this barrier, SLB Education collaborated with Clemson University to develop a ready-to-use wood engineering course package designed to launch new courses or strengthen existing engineering curricula with minimal friction in other institutions nationwide.

Developed by academic experts, the package includes lecture modules, solved examples, and real-world project applications, giving engineering faculty consistent, standards-based teaching tools. Accessed by 211 educators from 107 institutions, the package demonstrated immediate demand and the potential for scalable adoption across engineering programs—moving wood education beyond isolated electives toward standardized coursework.
